One additional confirmed COVID-19 case in South Lake Tahoe; 3 new cases in Douglas County

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - One more person in the South Lake Tahoe region has tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the area's total to 11 and 35 in El Dorado County.

There have also been 25 recoveries. Officials report 1,300 tests administered to date and most of those coming back as negative.

Quad County (Carson City, Douglas County, Storey County, Lyon County)

Quad-County Emergency Operations Center is reporting six new positive cases of COVID-19 in the Quad County region. This brings the total number of cases to 49, with 11 recoveries, 38 cases remain active.

The new cases are:

A female Douglas County resident in her 50’s
A female Carson City resident in her 50’s
A female Carson City resident in her 50’s
A female Lyon County resident in her 40’s
A female Douglas County resident under the age of 18
A male Douglas County resident in his 30’s

The cases are self-isolating in their homes and are in stable conditions Carson City Health and Human Services is working to identify close risk contacts to prevent further spread of the disease. Due to medical privacy requirements and to protect their identity, no further information about the cases will be released.

There are three Quad-County residents currently hospitalized due to COVID-19, and there have been no deaths.

Washoe County

As of 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, there have been 532 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Washoe County with 427 of those active. 92 residents have recovered. At this time there have been 13 deaths and 34 are currently hospitalized.

Placer County

Nine people in the eastern part of Placer County (North Shore of Lake Tahoe) have tested positive for the virus, 128 people total. 17 of those residents are currently hospitalized with 5 in the ICU. To date, 5 people have died from COVID-19 complications.

Nevada County

Nevada County reports 34 cases of the virus with 24 in the east county which contains most of Truckee. One person has died.

Alpine County

There have been 2 cases of COVID-19 in Alpine County.
