LTUSD School Board meeting Tuesday - Virtual and in-person

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - For the first time in over a year, the Lake Tahoe Unified School District will invite the public back into the board room for its next meeting on Tuesday, April 27, 2021.

While the meeting will be broadcast via Zoom, the board room will open to accommodate up to 20 observers. Should the maximum capacity be reached, attendees will be asked to also participate via this Zoom link.

The meeting will start with closed session at 5:00 p.m. with the regular meeting starting at 6:00 p.m.

The robust agenda will feature the following items:

The results of a collective bargaining agreement with certified staff (teachers) that, if approved, could give them a 2.5 percent retroactive increase for the 2020-21 school year and 3 percent for the 2021-22 school year.

Proposed calendar changes for the next two school years. Among changed to be discussed:
- Graduation Day to be held on the last day of school.
- High School finals to be held on the two days prior to the last day of school, with a makeup day on the last day.
- Elimination of parent-teacher conference week at South Tahoe Middle School.
- Changing the three minimum days prior to Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Spring Breaks, to regular schedule school days.

Extension of Superintendent's contract for one year based on his favorable evaluation on March 20. If approved, his contract would go through June 30, 2024 at this time and he'd receive a three percent salary increase.
