Two arrested after pursuit in Douglas County

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Nev. - For the second time in as many days, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office (DCSO) was involved in a vehicle pursuit.

On May 2, 2020, at 3:10 p.m. DCSO patrol deputies attempted to stop a motor vehicle with fictitious license plates in the area of Waterloo Lane and Centerville Lane in Gardnerville.

When the deputy turned on his emergency lights the 1999 Gold Oldsmobile sedan drove away accelerating to over 65 mph. The gold sedan immediately lost its front tire and continued to drive on the rim almost striking oncoming vehicles due to their inability to control the motor vehicle without a tire. DCSO continued to follow the gold sedan turning onto Highway 395 southbound. The car then lost a second tire and continued on two rims, heading south on Highway 395.

DCSO was able to box in the sedan due to it being unable to maintain higher speeds without four tires. Deputies used a motor vehicle intervention technique causing the gold sedan to spin out and stop in the ditch on Jake’s Hill south of Rockbottom Road.

There were two occupants in the sedan. It was determined the male, identified as Clayton Enox. had outstanding warrants for his arrest in Carson City. The female, Jasmine Simental, was arrested for narcotics-related charges.

DCSO is still investigating whether the gold sedan was stolen out of Fallon, Nevada. It was not registered to either subject.

Enox and Simental were cleared of any medical concerns and booked into the Douglas County Jail.
