Fireworks return to South Lake Tahoe for 4th of July

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Fireworks are returning to South Lake Tahoe on the 4th of July. The popular Lights on the Lake show hosted by the Tahoe Douglas Visitor's Authority will start at 9:45 p.m. The fireworks will be launched off barges on Lake Tahoe near Edgewood Tahoe.

The North Shore has moved away from traditional pyrotechnic shows and instead is doing increasingly popular drone shows. The North Lake Tahoe Tourism Business Improvement District previously announced they are funding a drone show in Tahoe City on July 4 and one in Kings Beach on September 1. Incline Village will also be hosting a July 4 drone show.

The Tahoe City Downtown Association and North Tahoe Business Association are hosting the expanded drone light shows featuring 150 drones each with Verge Aero, winner of the “Golden Buzzer” on America’s Got Talent Extreme.

The South Shore Lights on the Lake will fill up beaches for fireworks' with prime viewing locations from Nevada Beach to Tahoe Beach & Ski Club though they can be viewed from miles away, and of course, on the water.
