Pound of marijuana left behind on South Lake Tahoe pier

It's not every day that a pound of pot is considered lost and found, but that is what happened in South Lake Tahoe on Monday, June 8.

Thinking a box found on the Camp Richardson pier was left behind by a guest, an employee of the Beacon picked it up to turn into lost and found according to Sgt. Michael Seligsohn of the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office (EDSO).

When the box was opened by staff they saw that the contents were marijuana and they called EDSO.

There were no calls for lost property and deputies took the pound of pot in for destruction.
