Kudos: Bread & Broth thanks Zephyr Heights Breakfast Club

Every month, a wonderful, generous and fun-loving group of ladies mainly from the Zephyr Heights area gather together to visit, share family news and enjoy each other’s company. For over 18 years, 8 to 14 ladies from the Zephyr Heights Breakfast Club make the monthly meeting. During the past holiday season, some of the ladies decided that rather than exchanging gifts, they really wanted to help others.

So, on Monday, June 3rd, the Zephyr Height Breakfast Club funded and hosted a Bread & Broth Adopt A Day of Nourishment (AAD). Club members Julie Burns, Ruth Caywood, Peggy Ellena, Maryon Tilley and Laura Nelson came to help at the Club’s sponsorship dinner. After serving the Mexican themed dinner, Maryon Tilley shared her thoughts about the AAD program and the Monday Meal. “What a great meal and helpful, welcoming B&B volunteers," she said. "Our Zephyr Heights Breakfast Club collected donations for the Monday Meal instead of gifting each other. We enjoy getting together to share a meal; why not help others to share the same experience.”

B&B appreciates the generosity of the Breakfast Club members and truly enjoys having these kind and warm-hearted ladies join us in providing a wonderful “home cooked” meal in a welcoming environment to all who come to enjoy a hot, nutritious dinner on Monday’s at St. Theresa Grace Hall.
