Victim identified in Monday's officer involved shooting in South Lake Tahoe

Some details have been released about Monday's officer involved shooting at the Tahoe Hacienda Inn in South Lake Tahoe.

Kris Jackson, 22 and from Sacramento, was the young man killed by an unidentified officer from the South Lake Tahoe Police Department in the early morning hours of June 15.

Since the investigation is still ongoing by SLTPD, the El Dorado County Sheriff's Department and District Attorney's office, information about what happened is still not being released.

The officer has made a verbal preliminary public safety statement to the supervisor in the moments after the shooting. A complete interview of the involved Officer with investigators is scheduled.

On her facebook page, Jackson's girlfriend said she was with him after he was shot.

Jackson wasn't unknown to the SLTPD. On June 1 he was arrested for possession of several baggies of cocaine, scales and packaging materials. On May 21 he was arrested by SLTPD on a warrant out of Sacramento for failure to appear on charges related to drug possession.

A search warrant for the interior of his Tahoe Hacienda Inn room was signed by a judge on Monday and El Dorado County Sheriff Department Crime Scene evidence experts are now completing this aspect of the search and investigation.

After the investigation is complete, more details will be made public.

As with the death of any person, the City of South Lake Tahoe has expressed condolences to family and loved ones.
