Embarc celebrates first anniversary in South Lake Tahoe

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Embarc celebrated its first anniversary in South Lake Tahoe this weekend. The cannabis dispensary was the first to open under a new ordinance established in the city in 2019.

"I am proud of our team’s accomplishments over the past year, from fostering employee growth to providing significant community benefits as a local partner and top 25 tax producing business," said Christy Wilson, owner. "We look forward to continuing to work with the community to address vital local needs and thank the City for its support of a thoughtful local cannabis industry."

Embarc has a long list of accomplishments for its first year:

Recently named a top 25 tax-producing business in the City of South Lake Tahoe.

Embarc allocates one percent of gross receipts in perpetuity to local community causes, as directed by our Community Advisory Board. Support for the community has included but is not limited to the Boys and Girls Club of Lake Tahoe, Tahoe Institute for Natural Science, Tahoe Rim Trail Association, and Sober Grad Night. They have also engaged in in-store fundraising for causes including the local Humane Society and Lake Tahoe Community College scholarships.

Embarc supports the community through paid volunteerism for all employees. Embarc has delivered bags of food for Bread & Broth 4 Kids, volunteered during the Boys and Girls Club’s annual golf tournament, and engaged in community clean-ups, among others.

Embarc now has two other locations, one in Martinez and another in Alameda. Both of those locations also allocate one percent of gross receipts to donate to those communities. They have also been selected to open the lone cannabis retail location in Meyers.

Embarc Tahoe is located at 4035 Lake Tahoe Boulevard, South Lake Tahoe.

They have also been heavily involved in supporting Tahoe Alliance for Safe Kids (TASK) (formerly known as the Drug Free Coalition). Wilson had her team create a new logo and website for the group after they changed their name and expanded their focus.
