A 31-year-old South Shore resident Corey Anthony Denbae has been convicted of felony domestic violence and sentenced to five years in state prison.
On April 17, 2018, El Dorado Sheriff Deputies responded to a report of domestic violence on Grizzly Mountain Road, but Denbae had fled the scene.
Deputies said while the victim minimized what had happened, other eyewitnesses described how Denbae had physically attacked his wife, hitting her in the face, kicking her and choking her. The eyewitnesses also reported that Denbae had threatened to kill everyone in the residence, including the couple's minor age children.
Denbae was arrested the following day when he returned to the residence.
He had a prior felony domestic violence conviction in 2015.
This case was investigated by the El Dorado Sheriff's Office with the assistance of the California Highway Patrol and prosecuted by the District Attorney's Special Victims Unit.
