South Lake Tahoe businesses awarded over $65,000 in COVID-19 grants

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Eighty-seven small businesses have taken advantage of a special fund created to help them through COVID-19 related challenges.

The City of South Lake Tahoe put $50,000 into the fund and that was combined with other donations managed by the El Dorado Community Foundation. Other partners include the El Dorado County Chamber of Commerce, El Dorado Hills Chamber of Commerce, and many generous local donors.

Businesses in South Lake Tahoe were awarded $65,579.22.

The El Dorado County small business community was eligible to apply through a competitive grant process. Each applicant that met the qualifications will be funded.

The success of this campaign to support local small business is due to a community of donors both large and small who stepped up in a big way to ensure not only that our Downtowns, Town Centers, and Heavenly Villages would survive but also that businesses off the beaten path would find some financial relief as well, said the Foundation.

El Dorado Community Foundation gives special thanks to the City of South Lake Tahoe, the Latrobe Foundation Fund, US Bank, River City Bank, and the countless anonymous donors who made this possible through their generosity. The donations made by these organizations and individuals show the strength and resiliency of our community and prove that we will fight, masked, gloved, and six-feet apart if need be, to protect what we hold dear.
