Deadly crash near Walker claims life of South Lake Tahoe man

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) today released the names of the three people who died in a head-on collision on Highway 395 near Walker Sunday.
Just after 3:30 pm. on June 30, a Nissan Pathfinder heading south on Highway 395 collided head-on with a northbound Toyota Tacoma.
The driver of the Toyota died at the scene and has been identified as Russell Martin Roeben, 76, of South Lake Tahoe. The other occupant in that vehicle was transported to Renown Medical Center in Reno. CHP said both were wearing seatbelts
Two passengers from Southern California inside the Pathfinder also died. They have been identified as 41-year-old Marco Antonio Castillo of Downey and 81-year-old Enriqueta Guzman Rosales of Los Angeles, according to CHP. They too were wearing seatbelts.
Castillo died on the way to the hospital and Guzman Rosales died at the scene.
CHP says the remaining passengers from both cars suffered critical injuries and their names and current conditions have not been released.
The collision is still under investigation.
