Warm week ahead for South Lake Tahoe, 90 by the weekend

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Seasonable July heat continues into next week with dry and breezy afternoon zephyr winds prevailing. By next weekend, a strong area of high pressure will develop across the southwestern U.S. which could yield some of the hottest temperatures so far this year with record
high temperatures possible, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Reno.

The final two rounds of the American Century Championship at Edgewood should see a high of 90 degrees.

The South Lake Tahoe weekly forecast from NWS Reno:

Monday - Sunny, with a high near 80. Light and variable wind becoming west at 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon.

Monday Night - Clear, with a low of around 38. West wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light in the evening.

Tuesday - Sunny, with a high near 81. Light southwest wind becoming west at 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon.

Tuesday Night - Clear, with a low of around 40. West wind 5 to 10 mph.

Wednesday - Sunny, with a high near 80. Southwest wind 5 to 15 mph.

Wednesday NightClear, with a low of around 39.

Thursday - Sunny, with a high near 83.

Thursday Night - Clear, with a low of around 42.

Friday - Sunny, with a high near 88.

Friday Night - Clear, with a low of around 44.

Saturday - Sunny, with a high near 90.
