A.J. Hawk to fan on 7th hole: I have no problem doing it again

"I have no problem doing it again," said NFL linebacker A.J. Hawk. "I need to find a way to make it better."

Hawk was speaking of an incident that went viral during the 2014 American Century Golf Championship. A group of men were on the 7th hole at Edgewood Tahoe, having fun with Hawk as he stood in the tee box. "A big fraternity party was chanting and asked me to tackle one of them," explained Hawk during a recent phone call. "I asked multiple times if he was sure," added the former Green Pay Packer who now plays for the Cincinatti Bengals. "I have to tell you, it felt pretty good. I'm just glad I didn't rip my pants."

"I am open to anything they have that is legal and safe," said Hawk.

Hawk, who brings his brother to caddy for him, is playing in his eighth Lake Tahoe tournament.

Even though he's played in front of tens of thousands of football fans as well as the millions at home, Hawk said he still gets nervous when play on the 17th hole. He said that there are a lot of nerves involved but the hole is also fun.

On golf attire: I am not bringing the lavender pants this time.

On his golf game: If they have me at 200-1 odds they have been sleeping on my game. I'm coming in this year fresh and am excited to get out there.

On South Lake Tahoe: I love everything about about Lake Tahoe. I love to get on the lake (was on a buddy's boat last year) and swim in the lake. I am an Ohio boy and find Tahoe amazing.
