SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - A incident in Lake Tahoe Saturday evening resulted in one fatality and one rescue near Lester Beach and Rubicon Point, according to South Lake Tahoe Fire Rescue (SLTFR).

Just before 6:00 p.m., SLTFR Marine 17 started to respond to a call of help needed on a boat where CPR was in progress on someone who had been pulled out of the lake. The El Dorado County Sheriff's boat took over the call as it turned out to be near Rubicon Point.

Instead, the SLTFR boat responded to the Ski Run Marina where a person who had been in the water at the same Rubicon incident was being brought in on a rental boat, according to SLTFR Battalion Chief Jay Manning. That person had been pulled into the boat and transported. Manning said that person was transported to Barton Hospital but they were able to walk and talk.

There is no other information available at this time, and once the investigation is completed by the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office this story will be updated.

Manning reminds all boaters to wear life jackets when on the lake. They have loaner jackets at Fire Station 3 located at 2101 Lake Tahoe Blvd., South Lake Tahoe. Many marinas around the lake have loaner programs as well.
