Hot August Nights cruising into South Lake Tahoe

More than 400 classic cars are headed into South Lake Tahoe this weekend as part of the annual Hot August Nights celebrations. Cars lining the street with their hoods up, rumbling engines, the sounds of rock and roll, cruising and fun vendors will been seen on the south shore Friday and Saturday, July 25 and 26.

This year's event will be held in two places, Ski Run Blvd and Heavenly Village. Ski Run will close at noon on Thursday and stay closed until 9 p.m. on Saturday (there will be detours available). Bellamy Court and the Transit Station at Heavenly Village will be closed to traffic from noon on Thursday to 7:30 p.m. Saturday night.

Ski Run will have live music on the street both days from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and the Village will have it from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

A highlight of the event, the Classic Car Cruise, will be around Heavenly Village and the casino corridor in Stateline. The cruise will start at 6 p.m. on Friday, July 25 and Saturday, July 26. The best spots for viewing will be from the sidewalk along Hwy 50 from Heavenly Village to MontBleu Resort and Casino.

All events are free to attend.
