Tallac Historic Site transforms into vintage Gatsby this weekend

Each year, during the second weekend of August, the lawns and buildings at the historic Baldwin and Pope Estates turn back the clocks to a time of jazz, prohibition, prosperity and innovation.

The annual Gatsby Festival will be held at Tallac Historic Site August 9-10. Those that attend the free event will find vintage cars, games, music, Maytag clothes washer demonstrations, a speakeasy, tours and vendors with food and vintage clothing. The popular afternoon tea on Sunday is already sold out.

Pope House Living History Tours

10:00 – 11:40am. & 12:40 -3:40pm. Every 20 minutes – Tickets available at the Pope House Porch

Children’s Games

10: 00- 11:30am. & 1:00 – 4:30pm. Every 30 minutes – See Children’s Game Booth for Game Schedule

Jazz Band & Speakeasy/Bar

11:00 – 5:00pm. Band plays throughout the day – Speakeasy Prohibition Ale, Red & White Wine and Root Beer available to purchase – Located in the Pope Twin Cabin & Lawn (just follow the music!!)

Vintage Movies & Popcorn

10:00am. – 4:00pm. vintage Movies with freshly popped popcorn available to purchase – Located by the Speakeasy/Bar & Jazz Band

Silent Auction

10:00am. – 5:00pm. Saturday & 10:00am. – 4:00pm. Sunday – Bid on items provided by local merchants (need not be present to win)
