Get doused in color during Tahoe Youth & Family Services annual 5k run

Event Date:
August 19, 2017 - 9:00am

Have a blast with lots of color being thrown about while raising money for Tahoe Youth and Family Services during their annual ColorBlast 5k Run on Saturday, August 19 during Carson Valley Medical Center’s Health Fest 2017.

Runners get covered from head to toe in several different colors as running/walking a 5k course. As participants pass each 1K marker, the color lets loose! All of the colors are safe and even edible as they are corn starch based.

The only competition is to see how colorful you can get! Each section of the run adds a new layer of color to the runner’s clean clothes, hair, and skin until they cross the finish line in a final colorful explosion. The race is non-competitive and runners from all ages and ability levels are encouraged to participate.

Wearing white is encouraged to show off the color. Participants are also encouraged to come as a team, wear tutus and go have a blast! Babies in strollers can also participate.

The race will begin at 9:00 a.m. in the Carson Valley Medical Center parking lot at 1107 Highway 395 North in Gardnerville. Prices are $40 for Adults, $30 for Teens 11-17, and children 10 and under are FREE! Registration also includes a T-shirt! All proceeds from the race will go to support the local programs of Tahoe Youth & Family Services. The agency has been serving the South Lake Tahoe, Douglas County and Alpine County communities since 1971!

Carson Valley Medical Center (CVMC) Health Fest 2017 runs from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and will feature free health screenings and assessments, valuable health and wellness resources, free activities for kids, food, music and great raffle prizes.
