Another bear killed by Nevada officials, this time on Kingsbury Grade

For the second time in a week the Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW) has had to euthanize a black bear that was found near homes.
The bear was trapped overnight in the Kingsbury Area of Douglas County, and was put down because it was a danger to the public.
“We hate having to do this but a bear entering a house is a dangerous bear and the Nevada Department of Wildlife is obligated to manage the situation,” said NDOW Public Information Officer Chris Healy. “We have an obligation to public safety that we do not take lightly. People have called and asked us to move the bear but we cannot move a bear that we know to be dangerous, that just would not be prudent.”
Earlier this week a nine-year-old male bear was euthanized after being captured in Incline Village, and is the fifth bear to be euthanized this year.
