In February of this year, El Dorado County Sheriff's detectives began investigating the deaths of Patricia and Joan Miller. The Millers were twin sisters who died unexpectedly in their South Lake Tahoe home. During the investigation, investigators learned the twins were once entertainers and made several television appearances. Detectives reached out to the press and to the public to assist in locating their next of kin. At that time many expressed concern and interest to know how Joan and Patricia died.
On August 30, 2012, after reviewing pathology reports and evidence from the Miller residence investigators were able to conclude the Miller sisters died of natural causes, according to a news release from the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office. A pathology report concluded Patricia Miller died of coronary artery disease. Joan Miller, who relied heavily on her sister for care, died of probable environmental hypothermia.
