South Tahoe Futbol teams do well at CUFA

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - South Tahoe Futbol Club (STFC) teams did well at last weekend's fall Come Up For Air (CUFA) tournament in South Lake Tahoe with five of the teams finishing either first or second.

The STFC-sponsored event attracted nearly 200 teams on both sides of the state line. The tournament is the local youth soccer club’s largest fundraiser and attracts teams from Nevada, Northern California, and other western states.

STFC teams that made the finals were:

U11 Coyotes (Boys), First Place, defeated Sierra Surf 5-4 in the championship

U11 Thunder (Girls), Second Place, lost to Lincoln 2-1 in the championship

U12 Girls, First Place, defeated Prospector Soccer Club 3-0 in the championship

U12 Boys, Second Place, lost to Roseville Premier 3-2 in the championship

U13 Girls, Second Place, lost to Elk Grove in the championship.
