Boys and Girls Club Lake Tahoe Golf Classic set for October

The 18th annual Boys & Girls Club of Lake Tahoe Golf Tournament, an annual favorite of locals and visitors, is set for Monday, Oct. 17 at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course. The entire $195 entry fee goes directly to the Boys & Girls Club to continue its work with local children. Last year the BGCLT raised over $35,000 with this year’s goal to break $45,000.

“It’s win-win for everyone,” said Karen Houser, the Club’s executive director. “Edgewood’s regular green fee at that time is $170, so look at the all the extras players receive. We have a reputation for having great prizes and lots of them!”

The BGCLT’s golf tournament is a traditional prize bonanza with $10,000 for any hole-in-one, an all-expenses paid golf trip and more:

Rounds of golf at Tahoe/Reno area’s top courses
Golf Trip to San Luis Obispo, CA
Sports memorabilia
Golf equipment
Wines and spirits
Stays at top area hotels
Certificates for area restaurants, attractions, activities and merchandise

In addition to prizes, raffles, auction items and delicious meals, is a round of golf at Edgewood Tahoe, the area’s most spectacular course and site of the annual American Century Championship, the celebrity golf event on NBC Sports. Players have their choice of format, either Best Ball or Scramble, with prizes awarded in both categories. In addition to $10,000 for an ace on all par 3s, golfers have a shot at a Grand Prize Golf Vacation.

Golfers receive a gourmet breakfast buffet, a half dozen Titleist ProV balls, a box lunch, beverages on the course and an awards reception with appetizers.

Playing spots, hole sponsorships, and hole-in-one promotions are all available by contacting the Boys & Girls Club at 530-542-0838 or email: khouser@bgclt.org. For a registration form: www.bgclt.org.

Hole-In-One sponsorships are available for companies looking to help a good cause and attract attention for their business. For $3,000 a sponsor receives two foursomes, tee signage and pre and post-event publicity.

Hole sponsorships are available for $1,500 and include a foursome and plenty of attention. For $900, non-playing hole sponsorships are also available if work is calling.

“Our sponsors and the players are the reason we can continue our efforts to help local kids,” noted Houser. “Edgewood Tahoe donates the course so every dollar we raise goes to the Club. Then, there’s our corporate partners, hole sponsors, local business who donate prizes, and the individual players. We thank them all.”
