Adult prom raises record amount for juvenile diabetes camp after large donation from Lisa Maloff

Bubbles & Bowties, an adult prom that raises funds for Camp Buck and the Nevada Diabetes Foundation, had a record breaking fifth year thanks to support from the South Lake Tahoe community, Ms. Lisa Maloff and Ricky Reich.

Organized by Angela Zajic of South Lake Tahoe, the prom provides one week of specialized camp to youth with diabetes in the Lake Tahoe area as well as the state of Nevada. Camp Buck, held at the 4H Camp at Stateline, costs $1,300 for a week of food, medical supplies, camping and activities.

This year, the "Angel of Tahoe" Lisa Maloff helped make the prom even more special with a donation of $25,000, the equivalent of 19 tuitions to the "life changing" camp.

Diane Guth, owner of Getaway Cafe in Meyers donated all of the champagne on the tables during the evening of fun and dancing.
