Letter: The choice is clear - Dr. Kermit Jones for Congress

Why you SHOULD vote for Dr. Kermit Jones:

As a doctor and a veteran, his life has been guided by oaths to his patients and his country.

He was a flight surgeon for 2 terms of deployment in Iraq.

After returning from Iraq he served as a White House fellow under Obama working with the Secretary of Health and Human Services to improve the quality of care for veterans.

He believes in climate change and will take action to combat it.

He is pro-choice. He believes important health decisions should be made between the patient and their doctor.

He will sponsor legislation for a federal fire insurance plan, patterned after the federal flood insurance plan administered by FEMA.

He will fight to make big corporations pay taxes to support the economy and country while working to level the playing field for small businesses.

He believes it’s time for a new generation of leaders in Congress who are willing to stand up to special interests and party leaders to do what’s right for our country.

Why you should NOT vote for Kevin Kiley:
- He is a career politician
- He skipped 272 votes in the California Assembly last year.
- He has rallied with far-right leaders and refused to answer who he thinks won the 2020 election
- He is pro-life and an advocate of banning abortion nationally.
- He does not acknowledge climate change and the problems that it presents to our community.
- He declined to be interviewed by the Sacramento Bee.
- He refused to participate in a candidate forum with Dr. Kermit Jones hosted by the League of Woman Voters (a non-partisan group).
- On his website (https://electkevinkiley.com/issues/) he identifies current issues but offers no solutions.

If Kiley won’t answer questions from the media, won’t talk to voters, and won’t show up to work, why should we promote him to Congress?
