STHS Boys' Tennis Team heads to the NIAA State Championship

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The South Tahoe High School (STHS) Boys’ Tennis Team is on its way to the state championships to represent Northern Nevada on two fronts. Led by head coach Will Davenport and assistant coach Glenn Berberet, the team overall swept their division, going undefeated all season, thus heading to Vegas as the #1 seed for Northern Nevada in the NIAA 3A division. Truckee achieved the second seed to compete at the State Tournament which begins Thursday at Bishop Gorman High in Las Vegas. South Tahoe plays Adelson, the #2 seed for Southern Nevada at 8 a.m. Truckee takes on Boulder Creek, the #1 seed for the south at 10:15 a.m. The final round is Friday.

The Varsity team is represented by Brennan Monroe, Seth Johnson, Sebastián Guerrero, Brodie Wallisch, Ralston Pierce, Phillip Roberts, Ryder Tannaci, Jay Feeney, Jaedunn Aquino, Jacob Lucas, Emiliano Guerrero, Kole Brouwer, Owen DeLeon, Kacin Elkins, Colten Brown, Keller Fox, Diego Palacios, and Bryce Tiesleu.

Additionally, Brennan Monroe, Seth Johnson, and Sebastián Guerrero qualified for the class 3A northern region singles playoffs, and Ralston Pierce, Brodie Wallisch, Ryder Tannaci, Phillip Roberts, Jay Feeney, and Jaedunn Aquino qualified for the doubles playoffs.

Ralston Pierce and Brodie Wallisch won the doubles regional playoffs going undefeated all season and will compete in Vegas as the top-seeded doubles team from Northern Nevada. Ryder Tannaci and Phillip Roberts secured the #3 seed for doubles to compete at state. Brennan Monroe will head into state as the individual singles #2 seed and Seth Johnson will play as #4 seed. They all play their opponents at 1 p.m. on October 27.
