Letter: Kudos to Duane and Tamara Wallace, and why I support them

It’s nice to know that you can depend on support from your local representatives when needing help from bureaucrats in our government.

The Lake Tahoe Marathon just finished their 27th successful running two weeks ago, but just barely. We did not get our CalTrans permit until two days before the event started. And we might not have gotten it without the help of Duane and Tami Wallace who interceded due to their relationship with the higher-ups in the CalTrans food chain.

After the Wallaces contacted their contact in the upper echelon of CalTrans, the local level of bureaucrats became more cooperative and we were able to get our Cal Trans permit at the last minute.

The Lake Tahoe Marathon has had a 100 percent excellent safety record over the past 27 years. And by closing the northbound lanes of SR89 near Spring Creek Road on the morning of the race morning, the runners have a space to run on the shoulder-less sections of H89, the event will continue to be a safe and fun event.

Many thanks to Duane and Tamara Wallace for their years of support of our Lake Tahoe Marathon. They are dedicated to do good for our community.
