Kudos: Bread & Broth thanks Tahoe Douglas Rotary

“As Rotarians, we practice our motto ‘Service Above Self’,” shared Tahoe Douglas Rotary Club member Brian Williams. “So, volunteering regularly at Bread & Broth is very special. It is a great, meaningful organization that provides a vital service to many of our less fortunate community members. Try it! You’ll like it!”

By hosting five Adopt A Day (AAD) of Nourishments a year, the Tahoe Douglas Rotary Club members are able to help serve over 500 full-course, nutritious dinners at the Monday Meal at Bread & Broth (B&B). On October 14, in addition to Brian, the Rotary Club’s AAD sponsor volunteer crew members included Ryder Evans, Cara Faccinetti, Susan Glasson, Lyndsay Bryant, Rosie Lobato, and Steven Schorr. This lively group of Rotarians, dished out a beef enchilada casserole served with black beans and topped with salsa and homemade guacamole add prepared by the B&B cooks. As always, the meal was thoroughly enjoyed by the evening’s dinner guests.

Everyone in our community is invited to the Monday Meal, and also to Bread & Broth’s Second Serving dinner on Friday, both served at St. Theresa Grace Hall. These dinners provide hot tasty meals and a safe warm place to enjoy the company of fellow dinner guests. Not only are B&B’s meals meant to ease hunger, but also to feed the soul knowing that everyone involved in the dinners comes away from the meals having a sense of being part of a community whose members care for each other.

B&B is very grateful to Tahoe Douglas Rotary Club and its members for their ongoing commitment to providing service to others by helping B&B ease hunger.
