Lake Tahoe area roadwork November 13 – November 19

NOTE: All lane closures are weather dependent and a storm is expected in the Lake Tahoe area Tuesday through Wednesday night, November 15-16.

LONG-TERM PROJECTS
State Route 89 (Placer County): Work continues on a $70.1 million project from Tahoma to Granlibakken Road in Tahoe City that is upgrading storm water drainage and treatment systems, adding curb and gutter, resurfacing and realigning the road, adding new left-turn pockets and widening shoulders on an 8-mile stretch of the highway. Completion is expected in summer 2017. November 14-17 - State Route 89 (Placer County) from Cherry Street to Ski Bowl Way and from Cedar Crest Avenue to Sequoia North: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control at various locations from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday for pavement fog sealing work.

State Route 89 (El Dorado County): Work continues on a $13 million water quality improvement project from Cascade Road to the Eagle Falls Viaduct over Emerald Bay. The project is constructing new drainage facilities to treat stormwater runoff and repaving a four-mile section of the highway. Completion is expected in later this fall. November 14-17 - State Route 89 (El Dorado County) from Spring Creek Road to Cascade Creek: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control at various locations from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday for slope stabilization work.

State Route 89 (El Dorado County): Work has been completed on a $25 million project from the "Y" junction with U.S. Highway 50 in South Lake Tahoe to Cascade Road, north of Camp Richardson. Curb, gutter and sidewalks are being built in the 1.1-mile four-lane section, and the highway will be widened in the two-lane section to Visitor Center Road to provide 4-foot paved shoulders on each side. Drainage systems are also being built and the roadway is being resurfaced.
State Route 28 (Placer County): Work continues on Placer County’s $50 million Kings Beach Commercial Core Improvement Project from State Route 267 to Chipmunk Street. Highway work includes installing curb and gutter, sidewalks, roundabouts, lighting and drainage systems to enhance pedestrian and bicycle mobility, improve safety and provide water-quality improvements. Completion is expected this fall. November 14-18 - State Route 28 (Placer County) from Beach Avenue to Deer Street and from Fox Street to Beaver Street: Motorists can expect shoulder closures from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday for utility work.

SHORT-TERM PROJECTS

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) at the Upper Truckee River bridge in Meyers: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday for bridge work.

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) at Schnell School Road Eastbound motorists can expect the #1 lane closed from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday and 5 a.m. to 10 a.m. Friday for bridge work.

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) from 5 Mile Road/Paul Bunyan Road to 8 Mile Road/Cedar Grove: Eastbound motorists can expect left-turn pockets closed from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekends during Apple Hill season for safety reasons.

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) from Sly Park Road to Carson Road: Eastbound and westbound motorists can expect the #2 lane closed at various locations from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday for tree removal work.

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) from Strawberry Lodge Drive to Johnson Pass Road: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control at various locations from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 6 a.m. to noon Friday for pavement striping.

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) from Sierra Ski Ranch Road to Mt. Ralston Road: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control at various locations from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday and 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday for drainage work.

State Route 49 (El Dorado County) from Skyline/Coon Hollow Road to Pacific Street in Placerville: Motorists can expect a full highway closure with a city detour in place from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Friday for utility work.

State Route 193 (El Dorado County) at the South Fork of the American River/Chili Bar: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday for bridge work.
