Sheriff's office responds to bomb threats at two El Dorado County schools

EL DORADO COUNTY, Calif. - The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office (EDSO) responded to two bomb threats made at schools on Friday.

At 7:56 a.m., EDSO received reports of a bomb threat to Providence Christian School located in Shingle Springs. The school received the bomb threat via email. EDSO deputies and school resource officers evacuated all school staff and students at the school. Out of an abundance of caution, the officers and deputies conducted a systematic search of the campus for dangerous devices, but nothing suspicious or out of the ordinary was located.

The Tahoe Prep Hockey Academy located in Meyers also received the same email. EDSO Deputies responded to the school to ensure that all staff and students were safe. After a search of the Prep Academy was conducted it was determined safe, and the school was released to the staff.

The bomb threat was sent via email to numerous other email recipients and the incidents are being investigated. All threats of this nature are taken seriously, said EDSO PIO Kyle Parker.
