More winter weather headed to Lake Tahoe just in time for Thanksgiving

The National Weather Service is calling for a new storm to bring snow to Lake Tahoe late Monday night into Wednesday, affecting holiday travelers.

The next storm system from the Gulf of Alaska will drop south into Northern California with with cooler temperatures, rain and snow through early Thanksgiving Day. Timing and exact details are still uncertain this far out but it looks like the heaviest precipitation will fall on Tuesday with snow lingering Wednesday and Thursday according to NWS in Sacramento. This storm could bring the lowest snow levels of the season with heavy accumulations at pass levels and light snow down to 2500 feet.

No snowfall totals have been predicted from this storm, but as it moves closer, NWS will have more of an idea of what to expect in the Lake Tahoe basin.

In the meantime, expects cool nights and days in the 50s.
