Two Tahoe area bears get trapped in school food closest and CHP facility.

LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Two local bears found themselves in places that normally don't see bears--Rideout Elementary School in Tahoe City and the Donner Pass Highway Patrol office. In both instances, the doors closed behind them and the bears found themselves trapped inside.

On Saturday November 24, a bear decided to visit the school's food closet and ransack it in search for a good meal.

"This bear decided he was NOT going to miss out on Thanksgiving dinner!" the Placer Sheriff's Office joked on their Twitter page.

After the bear feasted and was done with his meal he found he was trapped inside the food closet and stayed there until deputies arrived to let it out.

Back on November 17, a bear cased out the CHP Donner Pass Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Facility before opening the door and entering the lobby. The bear was on his hind legs when he opened the door, then dropped to all four to saunter around. The 80" x 34.5" doorway didn't seem to faze the bear, nor did the armed officers inside.

They chased him down a hallway where an opened door led him to freedom.

On Facebook the CHP office showed another video of the bear coming back, but this time he stayed outside and tried to access a parking lot dumpster.
