City of South Lake Tahoe hires new airport manager

The City of South Lake Tahoe now has a new man at the helm of the airport. Mark Gibbs started his job as the SLT Airport Manager on Monday, November 28.

“Mark brings a wealth of knowledge and professional expertise to Lake Tahoe Airport with over twelve years of experience in all facets of airport operations and planning," said SLT City Manager. "The City is very fortunate Mark is joining the City’s Management Team and we look forward to his leadership at the airport.”

Gibbs earned his bachelor’s degree in aviation management and his master’s degree in airport management and development. Prior to coming to South Lake Tahoe, he was Director of the Elko Regional Airport.

“I see tremendous opportunities to expand the community benefits conferred by this airport to the citizens of South Lake Tahoe," said Gibbs. "I am excited to manage this facility in a sustainable manner. It is Lake Tahoe Airport’s untapped potential that drew me to South Lake Tahoe. I am extremely excited about serving in this community and look forward to engaging with the community in making this airport valued by all."
