Jamie Anderson celebrates South Lake Tahoe youth with inaugural 18 Under 18 celebration

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Olympic and X-Game Gold Medalist, and South Lake Tahoe native Jamie Anderson celebrated local students this week at a celebration at Valhalla.

Jamie worked with the Lake Tahoe Unified School District to select the inaugural 18 Under 18 celebration, recognizing students for excelling in athletics, academics, business and entrepreneurial, philanthropy as well as being inspirational and winning in another field.

The 18 Under 18 turned out to be 20 youth as accomplishments were too numerous to leave any out. Jamie presented the following students with letters of acknowledgment of their successes they can use for their college applications, when applying for sports scholarships, and more:

Addie Menke
Ava Wolf
Benji blower
Connor Langevin
Sebastian Guerrero
Kash Vankirk
Kaya Ferry
Kai Mclain
Luke Amato
Lyla Landy
Marianna Galancia Perez
Martha Cota Gonzalez
Martina, Navarrete
McKenzie Eckman
Meara Donahue

Tobin Gray
Tyler Dore

Lily Weitzel
Graydon Ross

Another highlight of the evening's festivities was the premiere of Jamie's film, Reflections, in the Boathouse Theatre. If missed, it will be released next week on YouTube (check out Shredbots).

Jamie will be continuing the event for years to come, supporting the "amazing youth in the community."

The evening included a raffle of several snowboarding items including boards, bindings, goggles and backpacks. The funds raised go to support the Jamie Anderson Foundation, which was established in 2013. This foundation is a way for Jamie to give back to youth, by supporting their athletic dreams and inspiring them to be community and environmental leaders.
