SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - During their annual organizational meeting Friday, the Lake Tahoe Unified School District Board of Education decided to keep the leadership they had over the past year again for 2020.
Citing a desire for experience as they go through the process of getting a new superintendent to replace the retiring Dr. James Tarwater, the board voted unanimously to have Larry Reilly continue as board president and Barbara Bannar as board clerk. Bannar has been on the board eleven years.
Reilly first term on the board goes until December 2020, and Bannar until 2022. Two other board members, Bonnie Turnbull and Troy Matthews, wrap up their first terms with Reilly next December. Appointed member Brandi Bannister's term expires with Bannar's.
Two other organizational agenda items were to appoint representatives to the El Dorado County School Boards Association and Lake Tahoe Educational Foundation. Bannister will repeat as the rep to the county group, and Turnbull will be with the foundation.
