Lucky Beaver Bar & Grill treats Douglas County Sheriff's Office and court staff with holiday dinner

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Nev. - Once again, the Lucky Beaver Bar & Burger provided a holiday meal for Douglas County court staff, Judge Mike Johnson, and law enforcement at the lake. The aroma of a substantial feast spread throughout the courthouse on December 20th as a turkey and all the trimmings were shared.

“Our heartfelt thanks go to Lucky Beaver and Dreu Murin for once again offering a holiday meal to the employees of Lake Tahoe Douglas County and the Sheriff’s Office, keeping a cherished tradition alive. We are truly fortunate and deeply touched by the overwhelming support from our community in both Lake Tahoe and Carson Valley,” said Douglas County Sheriff Dan Coverley.

Also joining the court staff and law enforcement were County Commissioner Wes Rice and his wife, and Commission Chari Mark Gardner.

Victor Corea and Margarito Quintero of the Lucky Beaver started their day early to prepare the special meal.

Johnson, the new Douglas County judge, took on the role of carving the annual turkey dinner after the retirement of Judge Richard Glasson who had the previous carving duties.

"We at Lucky Beaver Bar & Burger are honored to uphold the cherished tradition of serving the holiday dinner for the Douglas County Sheriff's Office," stated Mike Leeper, co-owner of Lucky Beaver Bar & Burger. "Our appreciation goes deep for their dedication, not just to our location in Stateline but also to the broader community. This is our gesture of giving back and saying thank you.”

This year's event marks the second consecutive year that the Lucky Beaver has supplied the meal after the previous host, Lakeside Inn, closed.
