Emergency crews respond to injury accidents on Spooner Summit

Carson City Fire Department, Nevada Highway Patrol and sheriff's deputies were called to two vehicle crashes on Highway 50 and Spooner west of Carson City this Friday afternoon.
One crash was reported at 3:12 p.m. to be two miles east of Carson City with injuries reported. The other crash was reported at 3:11 p.m. near the junction of State Route 28 in the eastbound lane, according to dispatch.
Conditions are icy and chains or snow tires are required. Motorists can expect delays. The winter storm is moving into the Sierra with heavy snow being reported around Lake Tahoe. Carson City, Carson Valley and Dayton areas could see anywhere from 1 to 4 inches of snow, with icy roads later tonight.
