Amp Live and Zumbi are looking forward to returning to the high energy and "hype" crowd of South Lake Tahoe's SnowGlobe this year. The duo makes up Zion I, which mixes hip-hop and trip-hop beats with lyrics focused on a message of unity, hope, and spiritual awareness.
The ever changing music scene is always a challenge to artists, and Zion I is no different. "The biggest challenge is staying relevant and current in these fast changing times," according to Amp Live. "The key is to just keep your ear to the streets and listen to a lot of new music...even if you don't like it." Amp Live is the DJ and Music Producer for the group.
Zumbi, the MC, finds balancing family with all of the touring they do as a big challenge as well. "My remedy is to spend high quality time when I am home," said Zumbi. The major influences in his music are John Coltrane, Bob Marley, Outkast, ATCrutQ, while Amp Live's are Hip Hop, Jazz, Soul, EDM, Classical, Folk, and Rock.
The versatile group will be on the SnowGlobe main stage on Monday, December 30 from 5:15 to 6:15 pm.
