Barton Health Doctor of the Year: Dr. Kandra Yee

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Dr. Kendra Yee received a "landslide" of nominations from staff and physicians to be the 2020 Barton Health Doctor of the Year.

Dr. Yee is Chief of COVID-19 Emergency Operations, Chief of Staff, Medical Director of the Emergency Department, and a practicing Emergency Medicine Physician at Barton Memorial Hospital.

Matthew Wonnacott named Barton Health’s Doctor of the Year

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Hundred of staff members at Barton Health in South Lake Tahoe have selected Matthew Wonnacott as their Doctor of the Year.

Dr. Wonnacott was recently appointed to Chief Medical Officer at Barton Health. He was previously Medical Director and a family practitioner at Barton Community Health Center. Dr. Wonnacott was instrumental in bringing a new Medication-Assisted Treatment program to address substance abuse and opioid dependency in the community.

Dr. Keith Swanson named the 2018 Barton Doctor of the Year

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The votes have been counted and Dr. Keith Swanson has been named Barton Health’s Doctor of the Year. Each year, hundreds of Barton team members cast their vote to nominate a favorite physician in honor of National Doctor’s Day, and the 2018 winner was announced at Barton’s Doctor’s Day Celebration on March 29.

“We honor Dr. Swanson as our Doctor of the Year, and the incredible contributions he’s made to the community as an orthopedic surgeon and practitioner of nearly 40 years,” said Dr. Clint Purvance, CEO at Barton Health.

Barton recognizes "Physician of all Trades" as Doctor of the Year

South Lake Tahoe, CA – The votes have been counted and Lance Orr, MD has been named Barton Health’s Doctor of the Year.

Dr. Orr is a board-certified emergency physician and medical director at Barton Hospital’s Emergency Department. He is considered a “physician of all trades” and is currently acting as Barton Health’s interim Chief Medical Officer.

Dr. Amanda Weavil voted Barton's Doctor of the Year

Amanda Weavil, MD collected her third victory this month when she was voted Barton Health’s 2016 Doctor of the Year.

Dr. Weavil is a board-certified OB-GYN for Barton Women’s Health. In early March, she won the Dancing with the Tahoe Stars competition and received the people’s choice award. Now, in honor of national Doctors Day, Barton Health physicians and staff voted Weavil as their favorite physician.

Barton's Doctor of the Year for 2015: Henning Mehrens, M.D.

Barton Health used National Doctor's Day on March 30 to announce this year's Doctor of the Year, Henning Mehrens, M.D. . He won the honor in recognition of his work at the Barton Skilled Nursing Facility and for his other specialties of family practice and urgent care.

Barton Health staff and physicians gathered in the hospital’s Snowflake Lobby to recognize Mehrens who has been on staff there since 1976.

Barton Health Announces Doctor of the Year

Dr, Daniel T. Robertson was named Barton Health's Doctor of the Year. Known as "The Hand Guy," Dr. Robertson is an orthopedic surgeon for Tahoe Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, specializing in treating injuries of the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder.

Each year a doctor on staff at Barton is voted on by peers and staff and awarded the honor on "Doctor's Day."

Barton Health’s 'Doctor of the Year' honored by staff; cancer survivor says 'thank you' for saving her life

It’s not every day Dr. Gregory Eyre, from Barton General Surgery, gets called into Barton Health’s, Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Clint Purvance’s office — especially when he’s in-between surgical cases. But, on Tuesday, March 26, he rounded the corner at Barton Memorial Hospital’s nowflake Lobby and was greeted by Dr. Purvance and quickly surrounded by applause and the faces of smiling Barton staff.

Recognizing 55-years of combined healthcare knowledge

Barton Health staff and administration recently filled “The Snowflake Lounge” at Barton Memorial Hospital Thursday, March 30 in honor of “National Doctors Day,” established in 1958. Drs Henning Mehrens, primary care physician, and Peter DiGrande, anesthesiologist, were recognized as “Doctors of the Year” for their dedication and work in the South Lake Tahoe community and its surrounding areas.
