Lake Tahoe local ski pass gains access to Heavenly, Northstar and Kirkwood

The Lake Tahoe Local Pass offers access to more than 263 trails, 14 terrain parks and 10,270 acres of terrain at Heavenly, Northstar and Kirkwood in California and Nevada. Ski or ride more than four days in one season and, priced at $419, the Tahoe Local Pass pays for itself, then ski or ride for free the rest of the season.

Ride the Wild Sierra bicycle event

The event is called Ride the Wild Sierra, with the start and finish at Turtle Rock Park in Markleeville, Calif.
Build Your Own Challenge, Kid Carson Challenge, Wild Sierra Century and the 8 Pass Challenge “The World’s Toughest Double Century” all take place June 30, 2012.

The three resorts each received between 12-21 inches of snow since Saturday, March 31, and March snowfall totals range from 110-146 inches.

And on top of that, it's spring skiing, always the best of the year. Forget those crowds of December and January, don't recall those icy January days when the wind howled. It's spring skiing, lightly clad with plenty of sun for sitting on the lodge deck.
