Plenty of snow at Lake Tahoe for spring skiing, snowboarding

One indication is that Heavenly Mountain Resort is only operating the Boulder base lodge and the Boulder and North Bowl lifts on weekends. In all the years I taught at Boulder never has had a shutdown like this. Too bad because lots of locals liked Boulder as out-of-towners didn't go there very often. Thus, parking was close and runs not crowded.

The popular American rock group 311 takes the stage March 6 performing an array of chart-topping songs from their 10 albums. Their latest album, Universal Pulse, released earlier this year includes hit singles, “Sunset in July” and “Count Me In.”
The Dirty Heads, reggae rock band from Southern California, kicks off the show with a melodic style that includes hip hop and punk genres. Their debut album, “Any Port in a Storm,” was released in 2008.
Heavenly Lake Tahoe opens expert terrain at Mott Canyon

No SEALs are identified by name, although there is a surprisingly length listing of SEALs who have died in action at the end of the film.

New Snow Allows Heavenly to Open Milky Way Bowl

After receiving 12” of new snow on Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning, Heavenly Mountain Resort will open Milky Way Bowl for the first time this season, giving the resort additional expert and off-piste terrain. Heavenly will have 50 percent of the resort open, totaling 2,400 acres.

Movie Review: 'Star Wars' rages again in 3D With 'The Phantom Menace'

Not so lucky now when I went to see the reworked original decked out in 3D. The film is now playing at the Horizon Stadium Cinema at Stateline, Lake Tahoe. And for all those Star Wars fans, and they know who they are, you won't want to miss it; though you can see the release without 3D and you won't be missing much.

On Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012 the Tahoe Project and Mo's Place are partnering to host the Tahoe venue for the first annual World Happy Day, when thousands of people will join together in communities around the globe to watch the award-winning film "Happy." Liam Neeson is the de facto leader after a jet carrying oil field workers crashes in the Alaskan wilderness. It is directed by Joe Carnahan, who also directed 2006's "Smokin' Aces" which was set at South Lake Tahoe and filmed inside MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa.

New storm to arrive on Sunday; ski resorts prepare for brisk business

Ski resorts report up to 2 feet of snow from the system which arrived Friday and continues today. The National Weather Service in Reno reports that a second and much colder storm will move into the area on Sunday into Monday, dropping temperatures and bringing more snow. Kirkwood adds U.S. Airbag technology after holiday demonstration

An inflatable airbag demonstration at Kirkwood Mountain Resort last month will give way to a new feature at the resort beginning in February, officials announced. If you tuned into your pre-set Capital Public Radio station Tuesday night expecting to hear "Excellence in Jazz" you may have wondered where it went. Don't worry, it didn't go away, it's now on a new station.
Effective Tuesday Capital Public radio moved "Excellence In Jazz" and several other of its music programs from KXJZ 90.9/KUOP 91.3/KKTO 90.5/KQNC 88.1 over to its music station at 88.9 KXPR/ 91.7 KXSR, and 88.7 KXJS.
