Tahoe Toy Run
Submitted by Editor on Mon, 09/26/2011 - 8:36amThe 21st annual Tahoe Toy Run roll through South Lake Tahoe on Saturday, Oct. 1, The South Lake Tahoe event is a major fundraiser for Christmas Cheer, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing food to needy families and Christmas toys to underprivileged children. Motorcycles will start at the Horizon Casino at Stateline beginning at 10 a.m. and parade down Highway 50, led by Santa Claus, to the Lake Tahoe Airport. Entertainment will include raffle prizes, auction, barbecue, and live music featuring the Cash Only band and Deep Fryed Mojo playing from noon to 8 p.m.

TRPA Announces Community Appreciation Day and Lake Spirit Awards

The Tahoe Regional Planning Agency is hosting a Community Appreciation Day event on Thursday, September 29 from 4 - 7 pm to celebrate the Tahoe Basin community's commitment to protecting Lake Tahoe.
This fun, family event will include bluegrass music by local band, Bison, a free BBQ dinner, activities for the kids, an ice cream social hosted by members of TRPA's Governing Board and Advisory Planning Commission, and demonstration booths explaining TRPA's mission.

This first-time event is held in and around the town of Meyers, four miles outside South Lake Tahoe.
