This letter is in response to the letter written by Property Manager Kevin Kjer. Mr. Kjer has been making a substantial sum of money renting homes in purely residential neighborhoods to people who don’t care about the community, abuse their neighbors, and regularly trespass on neighbors’ land and HOA’s docks and beaches.

The Tahoe Expedition Academy (TEA) has announced the Inaugural TEA Speaker Series, sponsored by the Martis Camp Foundation. SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Heavenly Village's New Year's Eve celebration was big, with organizers estimating several thousand people took in the music and fireworks as they welcomed in 2024 to South Lake Tahoe.
The event featured an array of performances by bands Decades from Chico and from NBC’s The Voice, Kristen Brown.
As the clock hit 9 p.m. (midnight in New York), the fireworks display with the gondola coming down the mountain thrilled those watching.

You know something is not right in the world when the Toyota Prius is now considered, and quite collectively at that, one of the best cars in the world. No longer is this pioneering hybrid an ugly can of slow molasses, but instead an attractive and sleek family car with more than adequate performance. I thoroughly enjoyed the first Prius I tested at the beginning of summer, but now we enter the age of the Prime Prius, with plug-in charging capability that'll make you question the practical purpose of owning anything all-electric.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Did you know human trafficking is often a crime that is hidden in plain sight and is only visible to those who know the signs and indicators? There are also many myths regarding trafficking, which is why educating ourselves is critical. Many believe traffickers are usually strangers to the victim when, in fact, that’s the most uncommon situation.
Current statistics show that around 42 percent of trafficking victims were brought into trafficking by a member of their own families, and 39 percent were recruited via an intimate partner or a marriage proposition.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - There may not be much snow this year at Lake Tahoe, but TubeTahoe has a solution and has been able to keep its runs full of snow with its snowmaking systems.
The crowds have been coming out to enjoy the daytime tubing, and now the business is adding Neon Night Tubing on some select dates.
Now people can enjoy neon lights, snow tubes, and laughter "that can be heard from space," says Tube Tahoe Co-founder Leon Abravanel.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The annual South Lake Tahoe Christmas Bird Count is scheduled for this Friday, December 15.
The Christmas Bird Count (CBC) has been held worldwide every year, and in Lake Tahoe for almost 20 years. It is the largest and oldest citizen science project in the world. Each year, from December 14 through January 5, tens of thousands of volunteers head out into the winter to count birds for a day. This tradition goes back to 1900, and in the intervening years, these birders have built a database of bird populations that is unmatched by any other wildlife census.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Peter and the Starcatcher will be the winter play at Lake Tahoe Community College (LTCC) and auditions are on Friday, December 1 with callbacks on Saturday, December 2.

Minden Mill Distilling continues its living history presentations on Sunday, November 26 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. This program is about Margret and James Reed, Those That Survived. Local authors and historians David & Gayle Woodruff assume the characters of James Reed and his wife Margret, who were the original organizers of the infamous Donner Party of 1846.

ROWLAND'S, LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - November 30, 1876 - Yes, this says the following story is from Rowland's Lake Tahoe, and yes, it says November 30, 1876 - 147 years ago. The following is a letter received by the Bradford Opinion and published on February 3, 1877. The weekly newspaper was published from 1874-1881 in Bradford, Vermont.
