SnowGlobe gives back to the South Lake Tahoe community

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - SnowGlobe’s 2018 is over but their donations to the local community will continue for months, years and decades to come.

SnowGlobe donated fresh food, water, personal items and clothing to 11 local charities, including Live Violence Free, The Warm Room (Tahoe Coalition for the Homeless), South Lake Tahoe Family Resource Center, the Lake Tahoe Boys & Girls Club, Christmas Cheer, Tahoe Youth & Family Services, St. Theresa’s Church and their Bread & Broth program, Focus, Case de Fida, and the Reno/Sparks Gospel Mission.

These groups received 26 cases of water (780 pounds), 250 pounds of food, personal hygiene product and 83 boxes of clothing. Several of those boxes contained brand new logo sweatshirts that were spread between the Warm Room, the South Tahoe High Teen Resource Room and Mt. Tallac High School.

The cumulative donation to The Sugar Pine Foundation is now 675 seedlings, with 400 donated directly from the festival and 275 SnowGlobe attendees opting to sponsor a seedling.

Approximately 53,952 single-use plastic water bottles were saved from use, and three dozen SnowGlobe attendees signed the plastic pledge at the booth and helped pick up trash after the final main stage set each night.

3,022 pounds of items were saved from landfills due to their donations. Calculations are still being done on the amount of waste diverted from the event through recycling and other efforts.

SnowGlobe once again partnered with Hotels For Hope, the festival’s longtime exclusive lodging partner who donates a portion of every night of lodging booked to a local charity. SG18’s Hotel for Hope Charity recipient is the Lake Tahoe Boys & Girls Club, which provides children and teens with a safe, positive and welcoming environment where they can have fun and enhance their education and experiences.
