SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The first meeting of the new year for the South Lake Tahoe City Council will take place on Tuesday, January 14. They will start off with two closed session meetings to discuss the interim city manager position, one on Friday, January 10 at 3:00 p.m. and again on Tuesday at 8:00 a.m., prior to the start of their regular meeting.
One big topic for their regularly scheduled meeting is the appeal of an issued Special Use Permit for a Verizon Wireless Monopine to be installed at 1360 Ski Run Boulevard. The neighboring property owners filed an appeal to the Planning Commission's decision to approve it. Since that time Verizon and the City looked at other locations that would work and that result will be discussed. An ordinance for future communication installations is in the works but all units already passing the approval process will not fall under it.
Also under discussion at Tuesday's meeting:
- Regulations for Shared Mobility Devices such as Lime Scooters
- Police Body-Worn Cameras
- A resolution outlining proposed terms for a new agreement between El Dorado County and the City of South Lake Tahoe for the development, operation, and maintenance of recreation and government facilities on the "56-Acres"
- A resolution directing increased City of South Lake Tahoe engagement and cooperation in US 50 South Shore Community Revitalization Project
- Potential future funding sources for public transit
- Proposed changes to Lake Tahoe Airport fees
Cannabis agreements will also be before the Council:
- Development Agreement with Tahoe Green, LLC, as a Retail Cannabis Dispensary & Delivery Service Business at 3930 Lake Tahoe Boulevard
- Development Agreement with Perfect Union, LLC as a Cannabis Microbusiness at 2227 James Avenue, Suite 5
- Development Agreement with Embarc Tahoe, LLC for the Development and Use of Property at 4035 Lake Tahoe Boulevard as a Retail Cannabis Dispensary & Delivery Service Business
- Development Agreement with Firebreak Associates, Inc. dba Cannablue for the Development and Use of Property at 2179 Lake Tahoe Boulevard as a Retail Cannabis Dispensary & Delivery Service Business
There will also be a presentation to start off the 9:00 a.m. meeting on the proposed Tahoe South Events Center.
