968 Hotel is only South Lake Tahoe hotel featured on Travel Channel series

“Hotel Showdown” squares off four different hotels against one another in a
winner-take-all competition. Representatives from the competing hotels spend the night at each other’s property, and with an exacting eye for detail, award points for every aspect of their experience. The highest-rated hotel wins a coveted $25,000.

The hour long episode featuring South Lake Tahoe’s 968 Park Hotel is titled ”Cat’s Out of the Bag with a Gun Show” and premieres Tuesday, January 27 at 9:00 p.m. PST.

Here is the Travel Channel's description of the show: "Four hoteliers pack their bags and travel to each other's property judging each one along the way. The hotelier with the highest star rating at the end will win the coveted $25,000 prize. Greg of San Diego’s budget boutique The Pearl Hotel takes on Chris Minnes of South Lake Tahoe’s eco-friendly 968 Park Hotel; Gordon of Santa Fe, N.M.’s hip, trendy, artistic Luxx Hotel; and Jill of the picturesque Inn at Black Star Farms in Suttons Bay, Mich. The Pearl Hotel kicks off the competition. This 23-room 1960’s sportsman lodge-turned-hotel is built around an oyster-shaped saltwater swimming pool. Greg, hoping to start out strong, shows the hoteliers his authentic Mexican taco stand – which is very well received. After a night in The Pearl, the hoteliers head to Chris’s eco-friendly boutique hotel in the heart of South Lake Tahoe, Calif. Steps from both heavenly ski village and Lake Tahoe, Chris is confident his hotel will impress. He greets the hoteliers at his lively bar with live music. Because 968 Park was built with the environment in mind, Chris shows off all of the repurposed wood and re-used furniture throughout the property. Next, the hoteliers head to Gordon’s artsy, eclectic Luxx Hotel in downtown Santa Fe, N.M. Gordon bought the space when it was an abandoned bed and breakfast and
transformed it into 16-room hotel where local artists can display their work. The guest hoteliers enter the hotel via its hidden hallway, where Gordon greets them and shows them to their colorful rooms. The final leg of their journey finds the
boys meeting Jill in Suttons Bay, Mich., where she is the Manager at the Inn at Black Star Farms. Set on 160 acres of walking trails, vineyards and farmland, the Inn is an agricultural destination for locals and tourists alike. Jill takes the
hoteliers on a tour of the property, complete with wine tasting and a hospitality hour. With the coveted $25,000 prize on the line, which hotelier will impress the competition enough to win it all?”
