Fraudulent company using Tahoe Chamber's name to solicit
Submitted by paula on Wed, 03/04/2015 - 9:11pm
The Tahoe Chamber is advising South Lake Tahoe business owners of a scam currently in the community. Someone is contacting businesses, asking them to update their listing in the chamber's directory.
Chamber Executive Director "B" Gorman said the Tahoe Chamber is not in the midst of calling businesses to update anything, nor have they given out information to any entity for such a purpose.
At times in the past the Chamber has used an outside vendor but, in those rare instances, they always send businesses a letter of introduction well in advance to advice people that the project has been authorized by the chamber.
Contact the chamber if you receive such solicitation at 775-588-1728.
