South Lake Tahoe man admits to Sunday burglary at South Shore Bikes

South Lake Tahoe police arrested a man following a burglary Sunday of South Shore Bikes on Emerald Bay Road.
Lee Sparks, 34, was arrested early Monday at Barton Memorial Hospital and admitted to the burglary and taking a bike, South Lake Tahoe police report.

Sparks was at the hospital being treated for cuts to his arms. Blood was found at the business where officers noted Sparks allegedly had forced entry into the shop through a roof event and exited through a window.

SUSPECT ARRESTED FOR BIKE SHOP BURGLARY

South Lake Tahoe, CA - On 3/17/13 just after 9:00pm, South Lake Tahoe Police Officers responded to South Shore Bikes (955 Emerald Bay Road) on report of a burglary that just occurred. When Officers arrived they discovered someone had forced entry into the shop through a roof vent, and exited the business through a window on the front of the business.

Blood was found at the scene indicating the suspect was possibly injured during the incident. Other identifying evidence was collected at the scene. At about 1:00am Officers responded to Barton Hospital where they contacted the suspect, Lee Sparks (34 years old from South Lake Tahoe).

Sparks had several fresh cuts on his arms and when interviewed admitted to the burglary at South Shore Bikes. Sparks admitted taking one bicycle from the business. Sparks was arrested for burglary and booked in the El Dorado County Jail.
