Homewood Mountain Resort offering educators a free day on the slopes with breakfast

Without question, teachers have demonstrated their unwavering commitment and dedication to students over the last year, doing everything within their power to ensure students have had opportunities to stay engaged and continue learning despite the quick pivot to virtual learning. To honor their unwavering commitment and offer thanks, Homewood Mountain Resort is giving away lift tickets, access to the mountain an hour before the general public and complimentary breakfast to 200 educators on Sunday, April 11, 2021.

“Teachers have demonstrated day after day their creativity and resilience over the past year,” said Kevin Mitchell, Homewood Mountain Resort general manager. “As a small token of our gratitude, we’re offering a free day of skiing and breakfast to 200 educators who want to take a break and spend time outside in the mountains.”

Educators interested in participating are invited to sign up online beginning April 5 at 10:00 a.m. The first 200 people who register and provide proof of employment related to the education industry will be eligible to receive one complimentary lift ticket, early access to the mountain, and a hosted breakfast on April 11. In partnership with the Excellence in Education Foundation an additional 100 tickets will be offered specifically to Tahoe Truckee Unified School District employees on a first-come, first-serve basis. Complete rules and registration details can be found online at https://www.skihomewood.com/teachers-ski-free/.

In addition, Homewood launched a new spring break mid-week offer that includes “Buy One Get One” for child and teen all day lift tickets valid Monday through Friday through the end of the season. Perfect for those planning a family ski trip over spring break, tickets must be purchased online in advance at skihomewood.com.

Located on Lake Tahoe’s west shore, Homewood has received 132” to 238” at its base and summit so far this season. With snow depths ranging from 40” to 92”, the resort is open daily through April 11, weather and conditions permitting.
