Friends and family meeting in South Lake Tahoe to search for missing woman

Friends, family and volunteers will gather on Sunday, April 9 to participate in a search for the 62-year-old woman who went missing from a South Lake Tahoe motel Monday.

Pamela Suwinsky, 62, was last seen in the afternoon on April 3 at the Motel 6 on Lake Tahoe Boulevard. According to the South Lake Tahoe Police Department, the woman, who was visiting from Sacramento, walked away from her motel room with hr identification and credit cards, but left behind her dog, cell phone and purse.

Those wishing to help search for the missing woman are asked to meet at noon Sunday at the main post office at 1046 Al Tahoe Blvd. Volunteers will be given fliers to distribute to help in the search. SLTPD detectives will also be there to meet with those there to help find Suwinsky.

Kathy Lawson, a friend of Suwinsky for eight years, is organizing the search. She said everyone is welcome to help search for Pam.

“The detectives have indicated that they would like for us to canvass a few select neighborhoods – we assume around the motel where she disappeared,” said Lawson who last saw her friend on March 29 when they had dinner.

Suwinsky is described as 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighing about 130 pounds, with blond hair and green eyes. She had come to Tahoe to introduce her Newfoundland dog, Wilson, to the snow.
