The Foster and Kinship Care Education (FKCE) program at Lake Tahoe Community College is offering a free class at Lake Tahoe Community College on "Neurodiversity: ADHD, Autism Spectrum, Sensory Processing Disorder, Learning Disabilities, Differently Abled vs Special Needs." It will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the college's room B103.

You'll receive assessments that you can take to learn sensory function, learning styles, executive functioning, and dyslexia. Visuals and supports will be demonstrated that you can use at home and in school. You will get the opportunity to listen to youth who are living this life and how they deal with the strengths and challenges that come with being neurodiverse.

Presented by "Espi" Espinoza, Child and Parent Advocate.

This is free but please RSVP to kehuxtable@ltcc.edu.

The Foster and Kinship Care Education (FKCE) program at Lake Tahoe Community College offers FREE classes and trainings for current and prospective Resource Families (foster care and kinship care, relative or non-relative) who live in South Lake Tahoe. Their programs are designed to engage and educate Resource Families so they are able to meet the educational, emotional, behavioral and developmental needs of children and youth. Training topics we offer cover a wide range of subjects, with a focus on Trauma, Resource Family Approval (formally Foster Family), and Kinship Providers support and trainings.
