The Board of Directors of the Lake Tahoe Chamber of Commerce (Tahoe Chamber) has announced the resignation of Chamber CEO Craig Schmidt who had been on the job for just 90 days.
“We accepted Craig’s resignation May 16,” said Chamber Board Chair Jason Drew. “It was an amicable parting and we wish Craig every success in his future endeavors.”
Drew confirmed that veteran community advocate Steve Teshara has agreed to serve as Tahoe Chamber CEO “for the foreseeable future.” Teshara served as Interim CEO from July of last year through January of this year.
Teshara has more than 25 years of experience as the chief executive of various community-based organizations throughout the Lake Tahoe region. He is the owner and principal of Sustainable Community Advocates, a consulting firm headquartered in Zephyr Cove. Steve has supported Tahoe Chamber as its government affairs liaison since 2010.
